While hunting for new Nerf shoulder stocks, I found Keidora's support reinforcement parts. They're lovely, but there was a tiny problem: my Recon is an old pre-recall model, with the long plunger tube that telescopes in and out. This resulted in the tube bumping into the back of the front supports, preventing it from priming properly. So rather than mangle it with hand tools, I tweaked the model to fit better.
- I removed the back wall on the front parts, but that left them pretty flimsy, so I added some bracing features.
- I was also having support and overhang issues with my printer at the time, so I filled in the indents to help resolve those.
- The forward screws would've interfered with the plunger tube, so I simply mirrored each side and fastened them with hot glue instead.
-- I am also kind of a lazy bum who doesn't want to be bothered with buying the right screw unless I already happen to have it.
Not the most elegant solution, but it still works as advertised.
